Maria joined A.G. Erotocritou LLC’s regulatory, corporate and commercial team in 2019 and is currently a Senior Associate in the team.

She specialises in commercial contracts, banking and finance, and financial services regulation, with a strong focus on highly regulated industries. Her regulatory practice encompasses the licensing, structuring and ongoing compliance of banks, investment firms, fund managers and crypto-asset businesses, as well as detailed advice on the evolving regulatory frameworks governing financial products and services. She has extensive experience in products regulation, including the design, structuring, distribution and compliance assessment of regulated financial products. 

Maria regularly supports banks and financial institutions on critical compliance issues, including AML/CTF frameworks, corporate governance, risk management systems, regulatory reporting obligations, and supervisory engagement with competent authorities. She advises on authorisation processes, regulatory notifications, inspections and ongoing interactions with regulators.

On the transactional side, Maria advises on the negotiation, drafting and review of a broad range of commercial and financial agreements, including financing documentation, service and outsourcing arrangements, intercompany and partnership agreements, and technology-related contracts within regulated environments. She works closely with both established financial institutions and innovative fintech and crypto businesses navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
