Chambers & Partners: Private Wealth 2026 - Cyprus Guide

Cyprus remains a compelling home for wealth and succession planning. For HNWIs, families and international businesses, it pairs an EU, English common law environment with a mature private client and professional services sector.

Our firm contributed the Cyprus chapter of the Chambers Private Wealth 2026 Global Practice Guide, which offers a practical overview of the private wealth landscape in Cyprus.

The chapter looks at the features that keep Cyprus firmly on the map, such as:

  • A non-dom regime that shelters passive income for up to 17 years, with dividends and interest exempt from SDC - one of the most attractive personal tax incentives in the EU;
  • No inheritance tax, and no estate duty, wealth tax or gift tax - a rare combination for succession planning across generation;
  • An extensive treaty network of more than 65 double tax treaties, delivering nil or reduced withholding tax on cross-border income;
  • A full toolkit of wealth structuring vehicles - the Cyprus International Trust, foundations and family investment companies - recognised, protected and upheld under a clear common law framework; and
  • A predictable tax environment, broadly stable for 15 years and now modernised by reforms effective 1 January 2026.
